Job summary

Lancashire County Council is seeking a Family Support Worker in the Early Help Service – Education and Children’s Services. The role is based in West Lancashire with a salary of £28,142 – £32,061.

You will hold a caseload of families, deliver evidence-based interventions, undertake early help assessments, and co-produce action plans with families. You’ll work as part of a Team Around the Family, maintain records, and build strong relationships with families and professionals to drive positive

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or substantial experience in a relevant field.
• Experience of working directly with children, young people, and families.
• Strong assessment, planning, and critical reflection skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Hold a caseload of families and deliver personalised, evidence-based interventions.
• Undertake early help assessments and co-produce action plans with families.
• Work as part of a Team Around the Family to provide seamless support.
• Maintain accurate records and apply analysis to justify decisions.
• Build strong relationships with families and professionals to ensure positive outcomes.
• Work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends, to meet family needs.
