Job summary

Lancashire County Council is seeking a Family Support Worker to join the Early Help Service - Education and Children's Services in West Lancashire. The role focuses on direct work with families to improve outcomes and provide tailored support.

You will manage a caseload, deliver evidence-based interventions, and collaborate with schools and partner agencies to co-produce action plans while maintaining robust records and safeguarding practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with children, young people and families.
  • Strong assessment, planning and critical reflection skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Hold a caseload of families and deliver personalised, evidence-based interventions.
  • Undertake early help assessments and co-produce action plans with families.
  • Work as part of a Team Around the Family to provide seamless support.
  • Maintain accurate records and apply analysis to justify decisions.
  • Build strong relationships with families and professionals to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends, to meet family needs.
