Role Overview

TSR Legal is proud to be working with a friendly and growing law firm that now has a new role for a Family Legal Secretary. The role involves providing high-level administrative and secretarial support to solicitors within the Family Law department, aiding in the effective and efficient delivery of legal services to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Open new matters on the client management system, including collecting and recording identification documents, processing initial payments, inputting relevant client data, and generating initial correspondence and documentation.
  2. Prepare, draft, and format legal documents to a high standard.
  3. Maintain both physical and electronic case files accurately and efficiently.
  4. Schedule appointments, meetings, and court dates using Microsoft Outlook.
  5. Copy typing and audio typing of legal documents, including creating electronic court bundles using Adobe.
  6. Upload court documents to relevant online court portals.
  7. Liaise professionally with clients, court staff, and other relevant third parties.
  8. Provide calendar and deadline management support to fee earners.
  9. Handle general administrative tasks such as managing phone calls, emails, and incoming/outgoing post.
  10. Use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe to create, edit, and share documents.
  11. Maintain strict confidentiality in line with GDPR and firm policies.
  12. Support office efficiency by taking on additional administrative responsibilities as required.
  13. Maintain strong knowledge of IT systems and assist with the implementation of new technologies.
  14. Identify and escalate any compliance or regulatory concerns to the COLP, COFA, or Money Laundering Reporting Officer as appropriate.
