Job Title: Legal Secretary

Salary: 22K - 27K DOE

Hours: Full time. Flexible hours to accommodate school hours can be arranged.

Location: Caerphilly, office based but hybrid can be discussed.

OVERVIEW

A boutique law firm is looking for an experienced Legal secretary to join their family department supporting the solicitors handling high net worth family matters. You'll support the smooth running of clients' affairs, manage confidential documentation, and coordinate with legal, financial, and professional advisers to ensure seamless execution of key tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Opening new client files, collecting information required for documents, inputting details, ensuring accurate data entry onto the electronic file.
  2. Drafting and formatting legal documents and court bundles while maintaining an accurate and organized electronic filing system.
  3. Diary management, arranging meetings, workflows, and deadlines.
  4. Liaising with clients, courts, and other stakeholders to ensure they are kept up to date.
  5. General ad hoc administrative tasks, including taking calls, emails, post, filing, etc., as well as assisting the wider team when required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Experience working with electronic filing systems.
  • Ability to multi-task and work autonomously.
  • Strong typing speed.
  • Experience with audio typing and digital dictation.
  • Experience drafting documents and creating bundles.
  • Ideally, experience working in a family law department.
