Job summary

Essex County Council’s Adult Community Learning (ACL) seeks a Vocational Trainer - Family Learning to deliver high‑quality teaching for parents and carers. The role covers KS1/KS2 English and Maths, with a focus on building confidence and learning outcomes for families.

Delivery takes place in schools, community venues and online. This is a part‑time post (8.88 hours/week) with pro rata salary and flexible working patterns discussed at interview.

Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge of KS1 English and KS2 Maths.
• Ability to plan engaging lessons to support learner progression.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Deliver family learning programmes to support parents and carers.
• Develop lesson plans and resources aligned to curriculum outcomes.
• Adapt activities for diverse learners and remove barriers to participation.
• Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain attendance and progress records using ACL systems.
• Deliver in schools, community venues and online environments.
• Build partnerships with schools and community groups.
• Support parents to help their children's learning.
