Job summary

Essex County Council's ACL invites applications for a Vocational Trainer - Family Learning in Basildon. This part-time role (24.79 hours/week) supports parents and carers with KS1/KS2 English and Maths, delivering family learning in schools, community venues and online, to build confidence and educational outcomes.

You will develop engaging sessions, adapt to diverse learners and track progress, while collaborating with schools and partner agencies to broaden access to learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• KS1/KS2 English and Maths knowledge relevant to Family Learning.
• Experience teaching, training, coaching or supporting learners.
• Good digital and ICT skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging family learning programmes for parents, carers and families.
• Develop lesson plans, schemes of work and learning resources.
• Adapt activities for diverse learners and remove barriers.
• Use assessments to monitor progress and provide feedback.
• Maintain learner attendance and progress records.
• Deliver in schools, community venues and online.
• Build relationships with schools and community partners.
• Support parents to help their children's learning at home and school.
• Deliver occasional evening and school holiday provision when required.
