Job summary

Adult Community Learning (ACL) in Colchester is seeking a Vocational Trainer - Family Learning to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment for parents and families. The role covers diverse settings including schools, community venues and online, with pro rata salary for part-time hours.

You will develop engaging learning activities, adapt to diverse needs, and support learners to build skills and confidence that improve outcomes for children and families.

Qualifications

• KS1/KS2 English and Maths knowledge required.
• Experience teaching, training or supporting learners.
• Good digital/ICT skills; strong communication skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging family learning programmes that support parents, carers and families to develop skills, confidence and positive learning behaviours.
• Develop lesson plans and resources aligned to curriculum outcomes.
• Adapt activities for diverse learners and remove barriers to participation.
• Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate learner records and attendance using ACL systems.
• Deliver in schools, community venues and online environments.
• Build relationships with schools and community partners to engage new learners.
• Support parents to help their children's learning at home and in school.
• Deliver occasional evening and holiday provision when required.
