Job summary

Essex County Council's Adult Community Learning (ACL) invites applications for a Vocational Trainer - Family Learning to support parents and carers in developing skills and confidence to help their children's learning.

You'll design lessons, adapt activities for diverse learners, deliver sessions in schools, community venues and online, and assess progress while maintaining records. Part-time hours and pro-rata salary apply, with evenings and some weekends possible.

Qualifications

• Subject knowledge of KS1 and KS2 English and Maths.
• Experience teaching, training, coaching or supporting learners.
• Good digital and ICT skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging family learning programmes for parents and families.
• Develop lesson plans and resources aligned to curriculum outcomes.
• Adapt activities for diverse learners and remove barriers.
• Use assessments to monitor progress and give feedback.
• Maintain attendance and progress records in ACL systems.
• Deliver learning in schools, community venues and online.
