Job summary

South Staffordshire Group is seeking a motivated Trainee Fall Protection Operative to assist engineers with installing, testing, and repairing height safety systems across the UK. You will learn industry best practices, develop practical skills on-site, and support project delivery while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

The role offers hands-on training, potential NVQ progression, and exposure to a field-based environment with nationwide travel.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Interest in practical, hands-on work in a field-based environment.
• Flexible approach with willingness to travel nationwide.
• Proactive and reliable approach to work.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Confidence working at height or willingness to develop.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and quality.
• Experience within construction, engineering, maintenance, roofing or other practical trades.
• CSCS Card.
• Previous experience working outdoors or in a field-based role.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced engineers with installation, testing, inspection and repair of height safety systems.
• Learn industry best practices and safe working procedures on various sites across the UK.
• Support project delivery by helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and quality at all times.
• Follow risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Develop technical skills through practical on-the-job training and formal learning opportunities.
• Contribute positively to the team and demonstrate a willingness to learn.
