Job summary

South Staffordshire Group is seeking a Trainee Fall Protection Operative to support installation, testing, inspection and repair of height safety systems across the UK. You’ll learn on-site, follow safe practices, and develop practical skills in a field-based environment.

The role emphasizes health and safety, teamwork, and a proactive approach, with funded training and opportunities for progression in a hands-on setting.

Job description

Trainee Fall Protection Operative

• Assist experienced engineers with the installation, testing, inspection, and repair of height safety systems
• Learn industry best practices and safe working procedures while working on a variety of sites across the UK
• Support project delivery by helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and quality at all times
• Follow risk assessments and safe systems of work
• Develop technical skills through practical on-the-job training and formal learning opportunities
• Contribute positively to the team and demonstrate a willingness to learn

What You’ll Need: Essential:

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
• An interest in practical, hands-on work and working in a field-based environment
• A flexible approach, with willingness to travel nationwide
• A proactive and reliable approach to work
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Confidence working at height, or a willingness to develop in this area
• A strong commitment to health, safety and quality
• Experience within construction, engineering, maintenance, roofing, or other practical trades
• CSCS Card
• Previous experience working outdoors or in a field-based role
