Job summary

South Staffordshire Group is seeking a Trainee Fall Protection Operative to assist experienced engineers with the installation, testing, inspection and repair of height safety systems on sites across the UK.

You will learn industry best practices through on-the-job training and formal learning, travel nationwide, support project delivery, and contribute to a safe, high‑quality team environment. A CSCS Card and good communication are valued as you build practical, field-based skills.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to practical field work.
• Hands-on work with a hands-on, field-based environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
• Commitment to health, safety and quality standards.
• Confidence working at height or willingness to develop it.
• Willingness to travel nationwide for sites across the UK.
• Proactive and reliable approach to work.
• Previous experience in construction, engineering, maintenance, roofing or related trades (advantage).
• CSCS Card required or in-hand.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced engineers with installation, testing, inspection and repair of height safety systems.
• Learn industry best practices and safe working procedures on various sites across the UK.
• Support project delivery by helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and quality at all times.
• Follow risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Develop technical skills through on-the-job training and formal learning opportunities.
• Contribute positively to the team and show a willingness to learn.
