Job summary

Birmingham Community Leisure Trust is recruiting a Facilities Assistant at Wyndley Leisure Centre, Sutton Coldfield. The role is part-time (15 hours/week) with a salary of £13.45 per hour and benefits.

You will help prepare facilities for activities, maintain cleanliness, and provide excellent customer service to the local community, contributing to healthier, happier lives.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering customer service in leisure or retail settings.
• Ability to work across shifts including evenings and weekends.
• Basic DBS check is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service and respond to enquiries.
• Set up and dismantle equipment and spaces for activities and bookings.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the centre, including changing rooms and toilets.
• Monitor facilities and report maintenance issues to the Duty Manager.
• Promote the centre's products and services to meet customer needs.
• Follow health and safety procedures and risk assessments.

Location: Wyndley Leisure Centre, Sutton Coldfield, B73 6EB

Salary: £13.45 per hour plus excellent benefits

Schedule: Part-time 15 hours per week, Week 1 Monday, Tuesday and Saturday Week 2 Wednesday and Thursday. Working hours 3pm - 9pm weekdays and 9am - 2.30pm weekends.

What you'll do as a Facilities Assistant

• Deliver excellent customer service and respond to customer enquiries in a friendly and professional manner
• Set up and dismantle equipment and spaces for a range of activities, events and bookings
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the centre, including changing rooms, toilets and customer areas
• Monitor facilities and report any maintenance issues or defects to the Duty Manager
• Promote the centre's products and services and help customers find activities that meet their needs
• Follow all health and safety procedures, safe systems of work and risk assessments while carrying out duties

Vetting and checks:

This role requires a Basic DBS check, which will disclose any unspent convictions in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to help us identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
