Axis Bioservices Limited is a preclinical contract research organisation (CRO) located on the North Coast of Northern Ireland. The company specialises in oncology, inflammation and respiratory diseases and offers bespoke scientific models to test novel therapeutics.

Role Description

We are seeking a trustworthy and reliable individual to join our team as a full-time Facilities Supervisor.This is a hands-on and physically demanding role located onsite in Coleraine and Limavady. The Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of our facilities and for communicating with the team and stakeholders. Required Qualities

  • Experience with a basic understanding of integral services such as plumbing, electrical and general maintenance
  • Ability to problem solve and apply a skill set that encompasses various repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Experienced in using Microsoft 365
  • Organisational skills

  • Experience of working independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • A full clean UK driving Licence
  • Unrestricted use of own vehicle

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing surveillance/security mechanisms and dealing with providers
  • Preparing rooms for meetings and events
  • Monitoring air conditioning and heating levels in the building and operational areas, developing a working knowledge of the systems and dealing with suppliers
  • Painting and general decoration
  • Repair and general maintenance
  • General installation tasks: e.g. fitting shelving and display boards, building tables and desks and installing new PC’s/Printers
  • Liaising with the IT company to set up new users and act as the liaison between staff and the IT provider to manage IT queries
  • Dealing with phone system providers and troubleshooting any communications issues
  • Basic plumbing and electrical works: e.g. managing leaks and blockages, changing bulbs and performing minor installations and repairs
  • Building relationships with key utilities (e.g. Electrician/Plumber/Builder and BT/Comms providers) and employing them for fixes when required.
  • Routine Daily/Monthly inspections of lighting/fire systems and fire protection parameters (e.g. fire doors and extinguishers etc.)
  • Liaising with the Fire Protection Officer regarding regular risk assessments
  • Liaising with water testing providers to maintain general water assessments
  • Responsible for the implementation and management of the health and safety (H&S) provisions within the facilities
  • Rotational responsibility for lone worker safety
  • Collaborate with the Head of Operations to implement effective maintenance strategies
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations
  • Respond to duty worker and out of hours call outs as required

Job Type, Salary Information and Company Benefits

Permanent, £28,000 - £32,000 (access to a company van is also available)
