Job summary

Adecco Romford & London East are recruiting a proactive Facilities Supervisor to lead a small maintenance team in a busy healthcare environment in Hackney, London. The role combines supervisory duties with hands‑on maintenance tasks and on-call responsibilities.

Temporary contract (~5 months) with hours 8am‑4pm or 9am‑5pm, pay £19‑£20.75 per hour plus holiday pay and benefits. Previous facilities/estate maintenance experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities, estates, building maintenance or property services.
• Strong knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance operations.
• Experience managing external contractors and service providers.
• Good understanding of health & safety legislation and compliance requirements.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and lead a team effectively.
• Excellent organisational, communication and record‑keeping skills.
• Hands‑on when required and proactive in issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and supervise a skilled maintenance team
• Allocate and prioritise maintenance requests through the helpdesk system
• Ensure planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works are completed effectively
• Coordinate and manage contractors on site, including permits to work and compliance documentation
• Monitor statutory inspections, testing and servicing programmes
• Support fire safety improvement projects and health & safety initiatives
• Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records
• Participate in the estates on-call rota for emergency response requirements
