Job summary

Freightliner is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead management of its UK property portfolio. You will ensure sites are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose, while working with rail, terminals, road and engineering teams to reduce FM costs and drive sustainability.

You will develop and implement FM standards, manage budgets, and oversee refurbishments and maintenance programs. The role requires strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and project delivery across a dispersed estate.

Qualifications

• Experience accountable for facilities management in an operational environment.
• Strong background in commercial negotiations and cost reduction in FM.
• Project management skills, with fit-out or minor works experience preferred.
• Civil engineering background would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Act as facilities contact for stakeholders across rail, terminals, road and engineering functions for all land and buildings (excluding track).
• Develop, implement and continuously improve facilities management standards, processes and reporting across the property portfolio.
• Support site-based requirements including facilities management, building and pavements repairs, maintenance and enhancements (off track).
• Manage office, depot and site reconfiguration projects, refurbishments and fit-outs as required.
• Develop and oversee planned preventative maintenance programmes across the estate to maximise asset life and minimise disruption.
• Develop and manage a central FM budget and be accountable for that budget; support with utility management and energy saving initiatives.
• Drive value by identifying cost savings across FM expenditure and monitor supplier performance against SLAs.
• Ensure maintenance contractors operate safely, compliantly and in line with Freightliner standards.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (CDM, ESOS, Fire, electrical, asbestos, Legionella etc.) and maintain a central compliance framework.
• Build strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders and promote consistent FM standards.
• Provide project management support for major property projects and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
