Facilities Manager: UK Property & Compliance

Job summary

Freightliner is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead and optimise the management of its UK property portfolio. You will work with rail, terminals, road and engineering teams to ensure sites are compliant, safe and fit for purpose.

You will develop FM standards, manage budgets, drive cost savings with suppliers and coordinate major refurbishments if required, while championing sustainability and performance improvements across the estate.

Qualifications

• Experience in Facilities Management in an operational environment.
• Strong background in commercial negotiations and cost reduction.
• Project management skills with experience in fit-out or minor works.
• Civil engineering background is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Act as the key facilities contact for operational stakeholders across rail, terminals, road and engineering (land and buildings).
• Develop, implement and improve facilities management standards, processes and reporting across the property portfolio.
• Manage site requirements including facilities management, building and pavements repairs, maintenance and enhancements (off track).
• Manage office, depot and site reconfiguration projects, refurbishments and fit-outs as required.
• Develop and oversee planned preventative maintenance to maximise asset life and minimise disruption.
• Develop and manage a central FM budget and be accountable for that budget.
• Support utility management and monitor energy usage to reduce consumption and costs.
• Drive cost-saving measures across FM expenditure and manage suppliers/contractors.
• Ensure safety, compliance and governance across all sites; CDM awareness and ESOS compliance.
