Job Description

We’re looking for a practical, proactive Facilities Officer to support the smooth running of a prominent and historical public site that hosts a wide range of events and services. This is an immediate start role for 4 weeks to cover a busy period. The role combines day-to-day maintenance with hands-on event support — ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping spaces safe, welcoming, and ready for use.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs
  2. Set up event spaces (e.g., arranging furniture, operating AV equipment, providing refreshments, signage)
  3. Clear and reset rooms post-event (cleaning, equipment storage, rubbish disposal)
  4. Support large-scale services and special events with venue preparation and logistics
  5. Liaise with external contractors, caterers, and service providers during events
  6. Keep external areas and entrances clean and presentable at all times
What We're Looking For:
  1. Experience in a facilities, caretaking, or event support role
  2. Comfortable with physical work, lifting, and working at height
  3. Basic skills in maintenance and repairs
  4. Good knowledge of AV/IT equipment setup or willingness to learn
  5. Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and self-motivation
  6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
