Job summary

National Trust in North Devon is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead the management of built assets and facilities at Arlington Court and surrounding coast and countryside, ensuring safety, compliance, sustainability and future-readiness.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, long-term planning, budgets, and a team of staff and volunteers, collaborating with contractors and internal stakeholders to deliver high maintenance standards and operational improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of facilities management and maintenance.
• Knowledge of health, safety, environmental and compliance requirements relevant to facilities management.
• Experience of managing compliance, risk assessments and operational procedures.
• Understanding of building fabric and conservation principles.
• Strong commercial, analytical and financial management skills.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing team.
• Experience in procurement, contracts, supply chain and contractor management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and delivery of facilities management services, ensuring built assets are maintained effectively through both routine and reactive maintenance.
• Oversee maintenance projects and manage budgets and resources.
• Lead safety, compliance and risk management, ensuring legal and regulatory requirements are met and promoting best practice across multiple areas.
• Lead and develop a team of staff and volunteers, creating a positive environment where people are supported to perform at their best and work with stakeholders to deliver improvements.
