Job summary

National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) is seeking a Facilities Manager at our National Training Centre in Leicester to help us deliver a safe, welcoming environment for staff, volunteers and visitors. You will coordinate bookings, arrange room set-ups and respond to facilities queries with excellent customer service.

You will lead the Facilities team, ensure compliance and manage procurement and contractors, with Nebosh General Certificate training encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience as an operational manager in the conference, hotel or leisure industry.
• Strong procurement and contractor management skills.
• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Willingness to train and gain Nebosh General Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating bookings and room set-ups for events at the NSPCC National Training Centre.
• Assisting clients and tenants and resolving facilities queries with excellent service.
• Leading facilities management at the NTC and ensuring statutory compliance.
• Overseeing procurement, contractor management and the facilities budget.
• Supporting health and safety, contracts, reception duties and catering setup.

Job description

Join us as a Facilities Manager at our National Training Centre to help us make a contribution that makes a difference.

The is an exciting role, based at the NSPCC National Training Centre (NTC) in Leicester. You will support the effective operation of NTC by:

• coordinating bookings and room set-ups
• assisting clients and tenants
• ensuring facilities queries and issues are resolved promptly with excellent customer service
• having overall responsibility for facilities management at NTC, ensuring statutory compliance is achieved at all times.

You will also lead the Facilities team at NTC, to ensure that the venue is a centre of excellence for child protection training and provides a purpose-built conference, training and meeting venue for NSPCC staff and external organisations. The centre also provides a base for professional staff providing child protection training, consultancy and e -learning.

Everyday is different at the Centre so if you are looking for a rewarding, fast paced, ever changing role, from setting up conference rooms, managing and supporting staff, compliance, health and safety and contracts to covering reception and helping to set out lunches for delegates, then this could be the role for you.

The successful candidate will have:

• good interpersonal and organisational skills
• highly developed leadership and management skills
• experience as an operational manager in the conference, hotel or leisure industry
• experience in facilities building management with a willingness to train and gain Nebosh General Certificate
• strong procurement and contractor management skills
• a good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems

Due to the customer facing elements of this role, this is an office based role at the National Training Centre from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
