Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a Facilities Management Assistant at Calshot Activities Centre, a unique outdoor education facility and visitor attraction located at Calshot on the New Forest coast. The role offers a permanent contract with 37 hours per week and a salary range of £24,796–£25,128 per annum.

You will deliver safe, clean facilities maintenance services, inspect equipment, undertake grounds maintenance and basic repairs, and take ownership of various areas and projects.

Qualifications

• Experience of building maintenance in a busy environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
• Strong communication, organisation and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Deliver effective, safe, clean and secure facilities management maintenance services for Calshot Activities Centre – completing tasks such as inspecting activity equipment, grounds maintenance and basic repair jobs.
• Role encompasses statutory and equipment checks as well as opportunities to complete projects and take ownership of different areas.
• Contribute to development of innovative ways to increase productivity of the team and to share ideas for future projects.

The Role:

Calshot Activities Centre is a unique outdoor education facility and visitor attraction in the New Forest National Park. Located on a shingle spit at the mouth of Southampton Water, the site has a long and diverse heritage, including a Tudor Castle and Grade one and two listed buildings.

This is a great opportunity to join the excellent and established facilities team that manage the buildings, grounds, and equipment of Calshot Activities Centre.

This team underpins the customer experience at Calshot and enables our 100,000+ visitors a year to enjoy our whole site, from the café through to the campsite.

What you’ll do:

You will deliver effective, safe, clean and secure facilities management maintenance services for Calshot Activities Centre - completing tasks such as inspecting activity equipment, grounds maintenance and basic repair jobs.

You will have experience in building maintenance and be capable of meeting the physical demands of the role.
