Job summary

  • Maintain and update compliance inspection programmes, records and documentation.
  • Produce routine reports from compliance and asset management systems to support monitoring and planning.
  • Coordinate information for contractors and internal teams to support inspections and compliance programmes.
  • Manage the team's shared inbox, responding to enquiries and directing queries as appropriate.
  • Provide administrative support for meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, minute taking and action tracking.
  • Support internal and external audits by collating compliance evidence and documentation.
  • Monitor and update records relating to compliance remedial works and follow-up actions.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Property Services, maintenance teams and external partners to support statutory compliance activities.

Hampshire County Council is seeking an Engineering Technical Support Officer to join its Property Services team. Supporting the management of statutory compliance activities across a varied property portfolio, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate records, coordinating inspection programmes, producing reports from held data, supporting audits, and working collaboratively with colleagues, consultants and contractors to help ensure compliance obligations are met.

The Role:

What we’re looking for:

We're looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented professional with strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications. You'll be able to manage competing priorities, work accurately to deadlines, and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team, you'll build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders while maintaining a flexible and adaptable approach to supporting business needs.

Ideally, you'll have experience working with asset management systems and managing compliance-related data and reporting. Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements within property and asset management, together with experience across areas such as electrical testing, lifts, legionella, oil, pollution control and pressure safety systems, would be advantageous.

  • Hybrid working: working from the Winchester office, site, satellite offices and home, to suit personal and operational requirements. Currently, most teams work in the Winchester office at least one day per week.
