Job summary

Weston College is hiring a Facilities Technician on a part-time basis, 18.5 hours per week, with shifts between 7.30am and 9.30pm and occasional until 10pm. The role may be based at any campus in Weston-super-Mare and includes a £500 per annum shift allowance.

A full driving licence is required to travel between campuses and carry out maintenance tasks. The role involves physical work, some outdoor duties, and a focus on customer (student) support, safety and premises maintenance.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence is required.
• Able to work across multiple campus sites.
• Customer-facing experience and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Be focal point for student support and requests.
• Support safety and security of College premises and vehicles.
• Maintain premises; ensure lighting and heating systems function, perform minor repairs.
• Report health and safety hazards to Line Manager.
• Travel between Weston campuses as required.
• Work independently with a proactive problem-solving approach.

Why not join us as a Facilities Technician? This is a part time role, working 18.5 hours per week. You will work a variety of shifts, between the hours of 7.30am and 9.30pm, with occasional working until 10.00pm required. This role could be based at any of our campuses in Weston-super-Mare. Due to the shift work nature of this role, you will receive a shift allowance of £500 per annum. This role involves a high level of physical activity, and some working outdoors. Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare.

Day to day duties

• To be a focal point and point of call for customer (student) support.
• To support the safety and security of the College premises, vehicles and contents thereof.
• As instructed, to ensure that the premises are properly maintained, and all lighting and heating systems and equipment are functioning. To undertake minor repairs and decorations as requested.
• To report any Health and Safety hazards or maintenance/minor works to the Line Manager.
  Excellent customer service skills.
• Full driving licence is required as you will be required to travel between campuses.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Proactive approach to problem solving.
