Job summary

HRGO Recruitment is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Account Manager in Bishop's Stortford. You will own key client relationships, price and estimate new works, and manage contracts end-to-end to maximise retention and service standards.

The role is office-based with occasional client site visits. You will develop proposals, bids and commercial submissions, monitor KPIs, and travel between sites to support growth and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in facilities management/account management for commercial properties.
• Experience pricing and estimating new work opportunities and preparing quotes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Commercial acumen with contract management and financial oversight.
• Understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and maintenance lifecycle.
• Proficient in MS Office and CRM systems.
• Organised, proactive and able to prioritise across multiple sites.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel between client sites.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate pricing and estimates for new works and maintenance contracts.
• Prepare proposals and bids reflecting scope, risk, labour and margin.
• Develop and manage relationships with key client stakeholders.
• Coordinate with operations and site teams to meet service levels.
• Conduct site visits to assess scope and validate estimates.
• Monitor performance with KPIs and regular client meetings.
• Manage account budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure health, safety and regulatory compliance.

Location: Office-based in Bishop's Stortford (with occasional client site visits)

Salary Guide: £35,000-£45,000 per annum (DOE)

We are looking for a confident, commercially minded Facilities Maintenance Account Manager to take ownership of key client relationships and support growth across a commercial building management and maintenance portfolio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for pricing and estimating new work accurately, managing contracts end-to-end, and building strong client relationships to maximize retention, satisfaction, and service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate pricing and estimates for new works, refurbishment projects, maintenance contracts, and ad hoc services.
• Prepare proposals, bids and commercial submissions that reflect scope, risk, labour, materials and margin.
• Develop and manage relationships with key client stakeholders across commercial building portfolios.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering and site teams to ensure delivery meets contractual service levels and client expectations.
• Conduct site visits and surveys to assess scope, identify improvements and validate estimates.
• Monitor performance through KPIs, reporting, and regular client meetings; implement corrective actions as required.
• Manage account budgets, forecasts and contribute to business development targets.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, regulatory standards and site-specific requirements.

Required skills and experience:

• Proven track record in facilities management or building services account management for commercial properties.
• Demonstrable experience pricing and estimating new work opportunities, preparing competitive and accurate quotes.
• Strong ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships, with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Commercial acumen with experience in contract management, negotiation and financial oversight.
• Practical understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fabric) and maintenance lifecycle.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel essential) and CRM systems desirable.
• Organised, proactive, and able to prioritise competing demands across multiple sites.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel between client sites.

Skills / Qualifications:

• Proven experience in facilities/building services.
• Professional certifications in facilities management or estimating are an advantage.
