Job summary

Major European Company in the UK is seeking a Facilities Assistant/Handyman to support the facilities team at a manufacturing site. The role includes waste management, road sweeper operation and general labouring to keep the site safe, clean and compliant.

Hours Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30 (08:00–15:30 on Friday). A Full UK Driving Licence and practical site experience are essential, with training provided for the road sweeper and related tasks.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• Experience in industrial, warehouse or labouring roles.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to undertake manual handling activities.
• Strong safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Operate the site road sweeper. (training provided)
• Empty departmental skips and waste bins.
• Support recycling and waste segregation activities.
• Maintain external areas, roadways and pedestrian routes.
• Assist the Facilities Operative with general maintenance tasks.
• Support shutdowns and improvement projects.
• Move materials, furniture and equipment around site.
• Carry out winter gritting, snow clearance and seasonal duties.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
• Comply with all health and safety requirements.

The Company

Our client is a leading name in several fields of manufacturing, with a major European and UK presence spanning numerous operational plants. As part of the continued growth of the business they are presently seeking a Facilities operative to support for their operation in Manchester.

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 08.00 – 16.30 and 08.00– 15.30 on Friday

Job Summary

The Site Operative supports the Facilities Team through waste management, road sweeper operation, housekeeping, grounds maintenance and general labouring duties to ensure the site remains safe, clean and compliant.

Key Responsibilities
