Dutton Recruitment are recruiting for a permanent Fabricator Welder to be based with our client in St Helens. The role requires reading engineering drawings, fabricating and welding heavy steel components to exact specifications. An immediate start is available subject to interview.

Applicants should have proven experience in heavy fabrication, plus City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding. Excellent attention to detail and strong safety practices are essential for success in this

We are looking for a Fabricator Welder for a permanent position based with our client in St Helens.

Immediate start available (subject to interview process)

Rate of pay is £18.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, fabrication plans and technical specifications.
• Measuring, marking out, cutting and preparing steel plates and structural components.
• Fabricating, assembling and fitting steel components to the required specifications.
• Carrying out MIG/MAG welding on mild steel and heavy steel fabrications.
• Working on the fabrication, modification and repair of plant equipment and steel structures.
• Using workshop machinery, grinders, cutting equipment and other fabrication tools.

Skills and Experience Required

• Previous experience working as a Fabricator Welder within a heavy engineering, fabrication or plant environment.
• Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience in marking out, cutting, assembling and fitting steel components.
• Experience working with heavy-gauge steel and structural fabrications.
• Competence in using fabrication equipment, hand tools and workshop machinery.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to produce work to a high standard.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team.
• A strong understanding of workshop health and safety practices. City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding would be expected.
