Job summary

EDM Limited, based in Manchester, invites applications for a permanent Fabricator/Welder. The role is 36 hours weekly, with four days (Mon–Thu).

Overtime may be required to meet project needs in a state-of-the-art facility working on prestigious Military and Civil aviation training projects. The successful candidate will have City and Guilds Fabrication & Welding Level 3 or an NVQ, completed apprenticeship, and experience welding steel/aluminium frames, with weld codings EN ISO287/EN ISO9606.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds Fabrication & Welding Level 3 or NVQ required.
• Completed Apprenticeship preferred.
• Experience fabricating/welding steel and aluminium frames and related components.
• Able to pass relevant weld codings EN ISO287 and EN ISO 9606.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all fabrication per AS9001/NIS procedures and specifications.
• Assist in reporting fabrication progress against deadlines.
• Assist in generating information for internal colleagues.
• Develop this new function of the business.

Job Title: Fabricator / Welder

Location: Manchester

Salary: £19.82 per hour

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time, 36 Hours Per week

Working Hours: 4 days a week (Mon-Thurs), Shift working and overtime working may be required.

Based in Manchester we are currently recruiting for a Fabricator/Welder on a permanent basis to join our developing Fabrication Department. We have a wide variety of prestigious clients on some of the most exciting Military and Civil aviation training engineering projects around the world and you will be instrumental in developing this new area of our business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carry out all aspects of fabrication according to AS9001/NIS procedures and specification.
• Assist in the reporting of the fabrication process, including updates on committed progress aligned to agreed completion dates.
• Assist in the Generation of appropriate information and development as required for internal colleagues.
• Further develop this new function of our business

Key Requirements:

• City and Guilds Fabrication & Welding Level 3 or NVQ.
• Completed Apprenticeship.
• Experience of fabricating/welding steel and aluminium frame structures, heavy plate, and light gauge sheet metal in a variety of materials.
• Will be expected to pass codings for steel and aluminium
• Working experience of welder qualifications to EN ISO287 and/or EN ISO 9606.
• Experience with fabrication machinery, e.g., press brake, guillotine, and powered rolls.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• An excellent understanding of machining allowances, welding symbols and tolerances.
• Able to meet eligibility requirements for UK Security Clearance.
