HSB Technical Ltd is seeking a Fabricator for a 4-month contract in Pembrokeshire. You will fabricate and assemble marine structures, read engineering drawings, and prepare materials for fabrication.

The role includes finishing work on mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium, installing components onboard vessels, and collaborating with welders and engineers to meet deadlines while upholding high quality and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Fabricator:

• Fabricate and assemble marine structures and components to a high standard.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings and technical specifications.
• Measure, mark out, cut, shape and prepare materials for fabrication.
• Carry out fitting, grinding and finishing work on fabricated components.
• Work with a range of materials, including mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
• Install and modify fabricated components onboard vessels and within a marine environment.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets the required quality and dimensional standards.
• Work closely with welders, engineers and other trades to meet project deadlines.
• Follow all site health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised working area.

Qualifications and Requirements for the Fabricator:

• Previous fabrication experience within the marine, shipbuilding, heavy engineering.
• Confident reading and working from technical and fabrication drawings.
• Skilled in marking out, cutting, forming, fitting and assembling fabricated components.
• Experience working with steel, stainless steel or aluminium.
• Able to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
• Relevant trade qualifications or apprenticeship would be advantageous.
