Job summary

Matchtech Group are seeking experienced Welder/Fabricators to join a well-established marine engineering business in the West of England. You will work across workshop and site-based projects, fabricating steel components from engineering drawings and welding with FCAW, MMA and TIG.

This role offers immediate starts, overtime options and a long-term opportunity with a potential permanent position. Candidates should be versatile, safe, and capable of working to productive targets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with FCAW, MMA and TIG welding.
• Competent welding across materials and thicknesses.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate steel structures and components from drawings.
• Weld using FCAW, MMA and TIG processes.
• Work to quality and productivity targets.
• Carry out fabrication and welding with minimal supervision.
• Support the wider production team as required.
• Work on planned and reactive projects in workshop and site environments.

Job description

Due to continued growth and a consistently busy workload, we are looking to recruit experienced Welder/Fabricators to join a well-established marine engineering business.

We are seeking versatile individuals who are equally comfortable with both fabrication and welding and can contribute across a variety of workshop and site-based projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabrication of steel structures and components from engineering drawings
• Welding using a range of processes, including:
  • FCAW
  • MMA
  • TIG
• Working to quality and productivity targets
• Carrying out fabrication and welding duties with minimal supervision
• Supporting the wider production team as required
• Working on both planned and reactive projects across workshop and site environments

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator
• Strong fabrication skills with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience with FCAW, MMA and TIG welding processes
• Good all-round welding ability across a range of materials and thicknesses
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Full UK driving licence

Suitable Backgrounds

Candidates from a range of heavy industrial sectors will be considered, including:

The key requirement is that candidates are genuine all-rounders with strong fabrication skills and solid welding experience.

Package

• £20.50 - £26.50 per hour (Umbrella/CIS)
• PAYE option available
