Job summary

JobsTrackR in the West Midlands is seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our busy workshop. You will produce high-quality fabricated components and structures for bespoke engineering projects, working from detailed drawings and using steel, stainless steel and aluminium.

Key duties include MIG welding to a high standard, operating guillotines, press brakes and overhead cranes, plus ensuring clean work areas and compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Metal Fabricator in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• MIG welding experience with steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret detailed engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Fabricate components using mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
• Carry out cutting, forming, assembly and tack welding duties.
• Perform MIG welding to a high standard.
• Operate workshop machinery including guillotines, press brakes and overhead cranes.
• Inspect completed work and identify non-conforming materials or components.
• Complete fabrication work accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and comply with health and safety procedures.
• Complete relevant documentation and assist with additional workshop tasks when required.

Metal Fabricator

Location: Wednesbury
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £31,200 - £36,400 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm (40 hours per week) with occasional overtime available

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Metal Fabricator to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in the West Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of bespoke heavy engineering projects, producing high-quality fabricated components and structures within a busy workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret detailed engineering and fabrication drawings
• Fabricate components using mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium
• Carry out cutting, forming, assembly and tack welding duties
• Perform MIG welding to a high standard
• Operate workshop machinery including guillotines, press brakes and overhead cranes
• Inspect completed work and identify any non-conforming materials or components
