Job summary

Gi Group in Derby is seeking a skilled Fabricator Welder to join our client on a temp-to-perm basis. The role involves fabricating and welding bespoke metal components, reading drawings, and working on mild steel up to 25mm.

You will weld using MIG and TIG, operate guillotines, press brakes, rollers and grinders, and ensure products meet exact tolerances. Day shifts with overtime available; a competitive hourly rate up to £16.50 DOE.

Qualifications

• Strong fabrication experience ideally in a heavy engineering environment.
• Experience with MIG and TIG welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate metal structures from scratch.
• Perform MIG and TIG welding on various metals.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.

Day Shift

We are seeking a skilled Fabricator Welder to join our client in Derby. The role will involve the fabrication and welding of bespoke metal and architectural components.

Duties:

• Fabricate metal structures from scratch
• Both MIG and TIG welding
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Completing multi-pass and positional welding on mild steel up to 25mm
• Operate fabrication equipment such as guillotines, press brakes, rollers, and grinders
• Measure, cut, and assemble steel and other metals to exact tolerances
• Inspect finished products for quality assurance and compliance with specifications
• The occasional working away may be required

Experience Required:

• Strong fabrication experience ideally in a heavy engineering environment
• Experience with different welding techniques including MIG and TIG
• Ability to work from detailed technical drawings
• Confident with various metals and fabrication techniques
