Job summary

Gi Group in Derby is seeking a skilled Fabricator Welder to join our client on site in Derby. The role involves fabrication and welding of bespoke metal and architectural components, with day shifts and potential overtime.

You will weld MIG and TIG, read drawings, perform multi-pass welding up to 25mm, and operate guillotines, press brakes, rollers and grinders. If you have strong fabrication experience in heavy engineering, we want to hear from you.

Qualifications

• Strong fabrication experience ideally in a heavy engineering environment.
• Experience with MIG and TIG welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate metal structures from scratch.
• Perform MIG and TIG welding.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Complete multi-pass welding on mild steel up to 25mm.
• Operate guillotines, press brakes, rollers, and grinders.
• Measure, cut, and assemble steel to tight tolerances.
• Inspect finished work for quality and compliance.
• Occasional travel or working away may be required.

Fabricator / Welder

Up to £16.50 per hour (DOE)

Day Shift

We are seeking a skilled Fabricator Welder to join our client in Derby. The role will involve the fabrication and welding of bespoke metal and architectural components.

Duties:

• Fabricate metal structures from scratch
• Both MIG and TIG welding
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Completing multi-pass and positional welding on mild steel up to 25mm
• Operate fabrication equipment such as guillotines, press brakes, rollers, and grinders
• Measure, cut, and assemble steel and other metals to exact tolerances
• Inspect finished products for quality assurance and compliance with specifications
• The occasional working away may be required

Experience Required:

• Strong fabrication experience ideally in a heavy engineering environment
• Experience with different welding techniques including MIG and TIG
• Ability to work from detailed technical drawings
• Confident with various metals and fabrication techniques
