CBRE Global Workplace Solutions in Bristol is seeking a skilled Fabric Technician to join our team. You will carry out building fabric maintenance, carpentry, painting and decorating, and general repairs to support the client site with safe, high‑quality upkeep.

Qualifications

• Strong practical skills in carpentry, building fabric repairs, painting & decorating, and general maintenance.
• Experience with fire doors and understanding building compliance requirements.
• City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent in carpentry or related trade preferred.
• Experience in commercial/corporate environments is advantageous.
• Good IT skills and ability to use mobile devices or maintenance systems.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow safety procedures.
• Knowledge of COSHH, risk assessments and working at height.

Responsibilities

• Complete repairs to doors, walls, ceilings, floors, fixtures and fittings, including minor carpentry and fabric works.
• Undertake painting, decorating, patch repairs, and general building maintenance to a high standard.
• Support minor plumbing, basic lighting maintenance and other site maintenance tasks.
• Inspect site conditions, identify defects, and produce reports, risk assessments and method statements as required.
• Record work using PDA or maintenance systems, and update follow-up actions.
• Liaise with client representatives, contractors and colleagues to ensure high service delivery.
• Carry out tasks safely in line with health and safety procedures, including COSHH and working at height.

About the Role

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is looking for a skilled Fabric Technician to join our team in Bristol This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on maintenance professional with experience in building fabric maintenance, carpentry, painting and decorating, and general repairs. In this role, you will support the safe, efficient, and high‑quality upkeep of a client site, completing both planned and reactive maintenance tasks while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete repairs to doors, walls, ceilings, floors, fixtures, and fittings, including minor carpentry and fabric works.
• Undertake painting, decorating, patch repairs, and general building maintenance tasks to a high standard.
• Support minor plumbing works, basic lighting maintenance, filter changes, and other general site maintenance activities.
• Inspect site conditions, identify defects, and produce clear reports, risk assessments, and method statements where required.
• Use PDA or maintenance systems to accurately record work completed, updates, and follow-up actions.
• Liaise professionally with client representatives, contractors, and colleagues to ensure a high level of service delivery.
• Carry out all tasks safely and in line with health and safety procedures, including COSHH, working at height, and safe systems of work.

Skills and Experience Required

• Experience working with fire doors and an understanding of building compliance requirements.
• City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent qualification in carpentry or a related trade is preferred.

• Good IT skills, including the ability to use mobile devices or maintenance management systems.

• Ability to read and follow technical drawings, instructions, and safe working procedures.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations, including COSHH, risk assessments, and working at height.
• Full UK driving licence.
