Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions in Oxford is seeking a skilled Fabric Technician to join our team. You will maintain and repair building fabric, flooring, ceilings, and basic plumbing, ensuring high standards for our clients’ facilities.

The role requires experience in fabric or carpentry, painting/decorating, knowledge of health and safety, and a valid UK driving license. We offer training and development in a collaborative, dynamic work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in fabric, carpentry, or related trade.
• Painting and decorating experience.
• Experience with fire doors.
• Proven track record in high-profile environments.
• City & Guilds or NVQ in carpentry.
• Current UK driving license.
• Excellent PC skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Strong customer relationship skills and communication with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to read technical drawings, instructions and processes.
• Self-motivation and organized with attention to detail.
• Experience of H&S procedures including COSHH and Working at Heights.

Responsibilities

• Respond to reactive works and complete maintenance tasks within timescales.
• Liaise with clients to deliver exceptional service and maintain communication.
• Conduct site surveys and produce reports, method statements, and risk assessments for planned works.
• Repair and replace floor/wall coverings, ceiling tiles, and other building works.
• Maintain lighting and basic plumbing requirements.
• Utilize PDA system to complete works, communications, and updates.
• Complete reactive, PPM jobs, and projects timely.
• Undertake minor project works and ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.

About the Role

We're seeking a skilled and experienced Fabric Technician to join our team in Oxford. As a Fabric Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' facilities, delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services that exceed their expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to reactive works and ensure maintenance tasks are completed within agreed timescales
• Liaise with clients' representatives to deliver exceptional customer service and ensure seamless communication
• Conduct site surveys and produce detailed reports, method statements, and risk assessments for planned works
• Repair and replace floor and wall coverings, ceiling tiles, and other building and installation works as required
• Maintain lighting, general lamp changes, filter changes, and basic plumbing requirements
• Utilize our cutting-edge PDA system to complete works, key communications, and updates
• Complete reactive, PPM jobs, and projects in a timely manner
• Undertake minor projects works and ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Regulations

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in fabric, carpentry, or a related trade
• Painting and decorating experience
• Experience with fire doors
• Proven track record of working in high-profile work environments
• City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent in carpentry
• Current UKL driver's license
• Excellent PC skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
