Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions in London is seeking a skilled Fabric Technician to maintain client facilities and deliver high-quality maintenance services. You will respond to reactive tasks, perform site surveys, and coordinate with clients to ensure smooth operations.

The role requires experience in fabric or carpentry, painting, and familiarity with fire doors, with strong attention to safety and detail. A relevant qualification and UK driving license are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience in fabric, carpentry or related trade required.
  • Painting/decorating experience desired.
  • Knowledge of fire doors and H&S regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to reactive works and complete tasks within timescales.
  • Liaise with clients to provide exceptional service and clear communication.
  • Conduct site surveys and produce reports, method statements and risk assessments.
  • Repair and replace floor/wall coverings, ceiling tiles and related works.
  • Maintain lighting, lamp and filter changes, basic plumbing.
  • Use PDA system for completing works and communications.
  • Complete reactive, PPM jobs and projects promptly.
  • Undertake minor project works ensuring safety and compliance with H&S.

About the Role:

We're seeking a skilled and experienced Fabric Technician to join our team in London. As a Fabric Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' facilities, delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services that exceed their expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to reactive works and ensure maintenance tasks are completed within agreed timescales
  • Liaise with clients' representatives to deliver exceptional customer service and ensure seamless communication
  • Conduct site surveys and produce detailed reports, method statements, and risk assessments for planned works
  • Repair and replace floor and wall coverings, ceiling tiles, and other building and installation works as required
  • Maintain lighting, general lamp changes, filter changes, and basic plumbing requirements
  • Utilize our cutting-edge PDA system to complete works, key communications, and updates
  • Complete reactive, PPM jobs, and projects in a timely manner
  • Undertake minor projects works and ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Regulations

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in fabric, carpentry, or a related trade
  • Painting and decorating experience
  • Experience with fire doors
  • Proven track record of working in high-profile work environments
  • City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent in carpentry
  • Current UKL driver's license
  • Excellent PC skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Strong customer relationship skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, instructions, and processes
  • Self‑motivated and organized, with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience of H&S procedures and requirements, including COSHH, Working at Heights, and Risk Assessment
