Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Fabric Technician to support refurbishment and maintenance on a busy manufacturing site in Barnard Castle. You will manage subcontractors, oversee health and safety documentation, and perform a wide range of fabric maintenance tasks.

The role involves carpentry, painting, basic plumbing and general building work across a historic facility, ensuring high standards of repair and safety are maintained.

Qualifications

• Qualified to a C&G or NVQ in a fabric trade such as carpentry, painting & decorating.
• Previous experience as a Fabric Technician.
• Strong customer service experience.

Job description

ROLE: Fabric Technician
HOURS: 37.5hours a week
LOCATION: Barnard Castle

We're looking for a Fabric Technician who will support the delivery of varying construction and refurbishment projects, managing subcontractors and associated health and safety paperwork, whilst undertaking fabric maintenance and repairs across a busy and aged manufacturing site.

Role Responsibilities:

• Delivery of varying construction and refurbishment projects, managing subcontractors and associated health and safety paperwork.
• Undertaking fabric maintenance and repairs across a busy and aged manufacturing site.
• Fabric maintenance activities.
• General carpentry such as repairs to doors and furniture.
• Basic plumbing.
• Minor repairs and maintenance on walls and ceilings.
• Tiling repairs and wall repairs.
• Painting and decorating.
• Other general building services such as housekeeping.
• Repairs and maintenance to building fabric.
• Remedial minor building works following PPM activities completed by other service lines.
• Painting and decorating projects (as and when required).
• Flooring repairs and new installations.
• Basic plastering.
• Maintenance of kitchens, bathrooms and communal areas.
• Carpentry works.
• Lock repairs.
• Stock management of site consumables.
• Support to the office moves team.

Required Qualifications:

• Qualified to a C&G or NVQ in a fabric trade, such as carpentry, painting and decorating, etc.
• Previous experience of working as a Fabric Technician.
• Strong customer service experience.
