Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains is offering an Advanced Apprenticeship Programme based at our Northamptonshire R&D Centre, with a 42-month development plan across engineering domains. The Apprentice Machinist role includes learning to use CAD/CAM and CNC machines to manufacture precision components, while aspiring to contribute to F1 technology transfer.

The programme culminates in Level 3 Machining or Engine Fitter qualifications, with exposure to multiple departments and a mentoring

Qualifications

• GCSEs at grade C or above in Maths and English (science preferred).
• Foundation level 2 engineering qualification is desirable.
• Practical machining experience is advantageous.
• Willingness to learn Level 3 Machining or Engine Fitter.”

Responsabilités

• Prepare, set and operate conventional, 3- and 5-axis CNC machining platforms.
• Learn measurement and inspection techniques for components.
• Support manufacturing machine shop and align with quality engineering.
• Follow SOPs and contribute to continuous improvement.
