Job summary

Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains in the UK invites applications for an Apprentice Mechanical Inspector. You will learn metrology, non-destructive testing, and inspection techniques to verify precision components while following rigorous quality standards at our Northamptonshire center.

The programme includes an Advanced Apprenticeship Standard with an IMECHE-accredited HNC. You will gain exposure to GD&T, radiography, and continuous improvement projects as part of a structured 3-year

Qualifications

Five GCSEs at grade C or above (4-9) including Maths, English and Science.
A Level 3 qualification in Engineering or related field.
Some practical experience in Engineering, machining principles or engine components.

Responsibilities

Confirm the quality of components to inspection standards using first principles and metrology equipment.
Create CNC measurement strategies for complex prismatic components.
Understand GD&T and ISO/ DIN/ ANSI quality standards and processes.
Liaise with Quality and Engineering to optimise measurement strategies.
Adhere to and update SOPs for processes and operations.
Knowledge of radiography (X-ray/CT) for quality verification of sealed components.
Contribute to Continuous Improvement activities.
