GM Performance Power Units is seeking a Gearbox Test Engineer to lead development, validation, and reliability testing of Formula 1 transmission systems in a factory setting.

You'll conduct full dyno tests, build test rigs, and analyze data to drive performance improvements. Collaboration with design and simulation teams will be essential to validate concepts and ensure durability under extreme race conditions.

Competenze

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in mechanical testing with motorsport, automotive, or aerospace experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of gear systems, tribology, and lubrication; fatigue and thermal/mechanical loading.

Mansioni

• Plan, develop, and execute test programs for gearbox systems, including full dyno testing and endurance/accelerated life tests.
• Analyze high-resolution test data to assess durability, wear, and efficiency; correlate with simulations.
• Lead root-cause analysis of gearbox failures and drive corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
• Support specification, development, and commissioning of new test rigs and instrumentation.
• Collaborate with design and simulation teams to validate gearbox concepts and improve performance.
