Job summary

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team in Brackley, UK invites you to join the Composite Design Department for a year-long industrial placement from the end of June 2027 to the end of July 2028. You will design and develop composite components for the car, owning projects from tooling to detailed drawings and supporting manufacturing queries.

You should be an engineering student with at least one year remaining, eager to learn, collaborate and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced motorsport

Qualifications

• Be currently studying a degree with relevance to engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Automotive, Aeronautical, Motorsport).
• Have at least one year remaining on your current course or be enrolled on your next course from the start date.
• Be curious and committed to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of composite components and assemblies for the car.
• Take ownership of projects from tooling design to detailed engineering drawings.
• Support components through manufacturing queries and trackside reliability issues.
• Work with the process group to create laminate definition information.
• Perform simple hand calculations for initial sizing and liaise with structures for feedback.
• Assist other design groups during launch car and build periods with CAD geometry and drawings.
