Job summary

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team is offering a year-in-industry placement in Brackley, UK, within the Composite Design Department. You will design composite car components using CATIA 3DX and work across chassis, transmission carrier, and aero-related parts.

You will own design tasks end-to-end, collaborate with multiple disciplines, and contribute to mass reduction and innovative solutions while undergoing full CAD training.

Qualifications

• Currently studying an engineering degree with relevance to motorsport (Mechanical, Automotive, Aeronautical).
• At least one year remaining on course or enrolled on next course from placement start (Masters/PhD enrolment evidence may be required).
• Willingness to learn, take ownership and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop composite components and assemblies for the car.
• Own projects from tooling design to detailed engineering drawings and feedback for manufacturing.
• Create laminate definitions with the process group and perform sizing calculations.
• Support other design groups during launch and build periods.
• Contribute to mass optimization and innovative design solutions.
