Job summary

The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team in Brackley invites you to join our Composite Design Industrial Placement, a year-long opportunity to design and develop advanced composite components for the race car.

You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, gain hands-on CAD experience (CATIA 3DX), and contribute from tooling design through detailed drawings while receiving training and mentoring to reach your full potential.

Qualifications

• Pursuing engineering degree with relevance to mechanical/automotive fields.
• At least one year remaining on current course.
• Curious and committed to continuous learning.
• Ownership mindset with initiative and independence.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of composite components and assemblies for the car.
• Take ownership from tooling design to detailed engineering drawings; support manufacturing queries and trackside reliability.
• Work with the process group to define laminate information and perform initial sizing calculations.
• Support other design groups during critical launch/build periods; contribute to mass reduction and innovative design solutions.
