Job summary

The Food & Beverage Houseman Supervisor at Ocean Hotels Barbados oversees the daily activities of the Houseman team, ensuring restaurants, bars and designated work areas meet Ocean Hotels’ standards, AAA Five Diamond requirements, and Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) standards.

They supervise duties, coordinate inspections, maintain cleanliness and organization, manage linen and supplies, and support in event setups and handovers while upholding safety policies and guest service excellence.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Houseman/Housekeeping or similar role in hospitality
• Previous supervision or team-leadership experience preferred
• Knowledge of cleaning, sanitation, safe chemical handling and equipment maintenance
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and standards
• Able to monitor and coordinate multiple tasks and shifts efficiently

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily activities of the Houseman team to meet standards and requirements
• Supervise and coordinate tasks, ensure efficiency and timely completion
• Conduct regular inspections of restaurants, bars, storerooms and Houseman quarters
• Manage checklists, handovers, and reporting to management
• Coordinate linen, supplies and housekeeping logistics for operations
• Lead function setups, event breakdowns and ensure safe transport of equipment
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire prevention and workplace conduct
