Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd in Durham is seeking Level 2/3 EYFS professionals to join private day nurseries. This temporary/contract role offers daily pay of £93-£110 and weekly PAYE, with training and ongoing support from an Empowering Learning consultant.

You will support practitioners, deliver play-based activities, observe progress under EYFS, and help children develop confidence, independence and social skills.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification - ESSENTIAL.
• Experience in a nursery/pre-school/reception setting.
• Understanding of EYFS framework and child development.
• Caring, patient and proactive approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and children's welfare.
• Comfort with personal care incl. nappies.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to provide professional references covering last 2 years.
• Reliable and able to work in a busy EY team.

Responsibilities

• Support practitioners and teachers in providing high-quality early years education and care.
• Plan and deliver fun, engaging and play-based activities.
• Support children's individual learning and development needs.
• Encourage children to develop confidence, independence and social skills.
• Observe and record children's progress in line with EYFS framework.
• Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.
• Build positive relationships with children, colleagues and families.
• Support with everyday personal care, including napp y changing.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and nursery policies.
