Job summary

Desian Education are partnering with a welcoming primary school in Ellesmere Port to recruit a Reception Class Teaching Assistant with SEND. This full-time, long-term temporary role supports an experienced EYFS team across Nursery and Reception, helping pupils develop communication, independence and early learning skills.

You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver small-group phonics and reading interventions, support pupils with EHCPs, and promote a nurturing, inclusive classroom

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant in EYFS (Nursery/Reception).
• Ability to support children with SEND and additional needs.
• Familiarity with early years phonics and reading interventions.
• Comfort with using Makaton and PECS to support communication.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with day-to-day classroom operations.
• Encourage positive behaviour and create a safe learning environment.
• Deliver small-group phonics and reading comprehension activities for Reception pupils.
• Provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs and EHCPs.
• Collaborate with the school team to meet individual learning needs.
