Job summary

Vision for Education are recruiting a full-time Reception Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Telford. This role suits an experienced EYFS practitioner who enjoys helping young children settle into school and build confidence in their early years.

You will support the class teacher across the EYFS curriculum, delivering play-based activities, 1:1 and small-group support, and develop communication, language and social skills while assisting with phonics, literacy and numeracy.

Qualifications

• Experience in EYFS or Reception settings.
• Experience supporting young children in a school, nursery or childcare environment.
• Good understanding of the EYFS framework and play-based learning.
• Patient, nurturing and enthusiastic approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to support children both individually and in small groups.
• Two satisfactory references.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Support children across the Reception classroom and EYFS provision.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Support children's learning through play-based activities.
• Help develop children's communication, language and social skills.
• Support early phonics, literacy and numeracy activities.
• Assist with classroom routines, transitions and daily activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and encouraging independence.
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team.
• Create a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment.
