Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in the Southport area, focusing on SEN and EYFS support. The role is based in an EYFS classroom, delivering targeted help to young learners and working closely with the class teacher.

Working Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 3:15pm, start date 19th October, with a fixed-term contract until the end of the academic year and potential extension for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or Childcare qualification (or equivalent).
• Previous experience supporting young children within a school, nursery, childcare or similar setting is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting children with SEN would be advantageous.
• A good understanding of EYFS development and learning would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teaching and learning within an EYFS classroom.
• Delivering targeted interventions to small groups of pupils.
• Supporting the development of early communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Providing additional support to children with SEN who require extra help with their learning.
• Encouraging children's confidence, independence and engagement in lessons.
• Assisting with classroom preparation and general classroom duties.
• Promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils' social and emotional development.
