Job summary

Teaching Personnel seeks an enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant for a toxteth-based primary school. You will support pupils in early years, work with the class teacher, and help create a positive learning environment to foster academic, social, and emotional development.

The role involves phonics, literacy, numeracy support, and contributing to pupil progress monitoring, with a friendly, inclusive classroom culture and opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a school setting, ideally in EYFS.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, positive, and adaptable approach.
• Good understanding of child development and early years education.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teaching and learning activities across the EYFS curriculum.
• Assisting with phonics, literacy, and numeracy sessions.
• Encouraging learning through play and structured activities.
• Supporting individual pupils and small groups to meet learning goals.
• Helping to maintain a safe, caring, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Contributing to the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress.
