Job summary

St. Matthew's Primary School in Plymouth is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years Foundation Stage team. The role is in our Reception class, supporting teaching, learning and play to help children flourish.

The successful candidate will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with additional needs, helping access learning and develop independence within our inclusive school community. Experience with speech and language delay, autism and sensory needs would be beneficial.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of child development and early years learning.
• Experience supporting children with additional needs is desirable.
• Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised 1:1 support for a child with additional needs.
• Support teachers in delivering high-quality learning across the EYFS.
• Promote the Characteristics of Effective Learning and learning through play.
• Support outdoor learning and Wild Tribe activities.
• Work with staff to create a warm, inclusive environment for all children.
