Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a caring EYFS Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in Amersham. You will support young children with SEN to access learning, develop confidence and independence, and promote wellbeing in a nurturing environment.

The role is full-time with October 2026 start. A current enhanced DBS and a strong safeguarding ethos are essential, with flexible, child-centred support across the early years setting.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in planning and delivering EYFS activities.

• Support social communication, emotional regulation and sensor iy needs.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning.
• Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Support personal care and daily routines where required.

About the Role

Are you a caring, patient, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a committed EYFS Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you'll play a key role in supporting young children's learning, development, and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive, and age-appropriate EYFS learning activities.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with SEN, helping them access learning and develop their confidence and independence.
• Support children with a range of additional needs, adapting activities and approaches to meet individual needs where appropriate.
• Assist children with communication, language, literacy, numeracy, physical development, and other areas of their early learning.
• Support children with social communication, interaction, emotional regulation, and sensory needs.
• Encourage children to develop their confidence, independence, social skills, and positive attitudes towards learning.
• Help create a safe, nurturing, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and participation.
• Support children with personal care, toileting, feeding, and other daily routines where required.

Requirements

• A genuine passion for supporting young children's learning, development, and wellbeing.

• A commitment to inclusion and ensuring all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
