Job summary

Supply Desk is recruiting an EYFS Learning Support Assistant for a primary school in the HP11 area, High Wycombe. The role runs full-time on a temporary basis with an ASAP/September start and long-term potential. Salary is £90–£110 per day, with ongoing development and supportive school environment.

The successful candidate will work with teachers to support learning, including 1:1 and small groups, and will assist with lesson delivery, SEN support, and progress monitoring.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children (school-based experience desirable).
  • A patient, supportive, and positive approach is essential.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.

Responsibilities

Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the HP11 area to appoint a dedicated and enthusiasticEYFS Learning Support Assistant (LSA). The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils learning, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You will play a key role in helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting pupils learning in the classroom, both 1:1 and in small groups
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and preparation of resources
  • Providing targeted support for pupils with additional needs (SEN)
  • Encouraging pupils confidence, independence, and engagement in learning
  • Supporting pupils social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress to the class teacher
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, staff, and external professionals
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children (school-based experience desirable)
  • A patient, supportive, and positive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
  • A genuine passion for supporting childrens development
Desirable:
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
